A French find! A truly beautiful Virgin Mary framed in a shield shaped frame with a slice of mother of pearl mounted to the back. It creates an iridescent stain glass effect behind her. Mother of pearl is a delicate material, but it is securely mounted with a protruding frame in the back to protect it. To keep this piece in its best condition...no tossing this in the jewelry box with other heavy charms. This piece has some old deep patina in its deepest crevases...an almost purple haze that can really only been seen under a loop.
Width - 5/8" Length - 1 1/8" including bail. Bail opening - 4x2.7mm. .9g. Stamped: with French eagle's head hallmark indicating 18k. "J. Roly or Holy" (assume artist name) and partial makers mark.
